We would like to take a moment to highlight a Sunrise family member and local community member who needs help.

Keith is a loved husband, father, and grandfather. He and his family have been members of the Des Plaines community for over 40 years.

You can usually find Keith here at Sunrise Grill on Sundays having lunch with one or all three of his grandsons and visiting his daughter, Amanda, who has been faithfully serving Sunrise patrons with a smile since 2013. If you were to stop and say hello to Keith, you’d have the pleasure of meeting one of the most outgoing people you’ve ever come across, and would probably get to hear one of Keith’s many infamous stories.

Keith was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in 2021 and has been fearlessly battling with the disease. His resilience fought back cancer a number of times, but recently his condition has worsened significantly.

In true Keith fashion, he doesn’t have time to dwell on his current diagnosis. He has a number of things that he wants to complete for his family with the time he has left, despite having a lack of funds or energy due to his ongoing fight with this terrible disease.

If you have the means to donate to Keith and help ease his long-fought battle with cancer, it would mean the world to us and Keith’s family: His wife Oksana, his daughter’s Amanda and Alana, and his 3 grandsons Cullen, Cole, and Holden. $5-$10 from anyone who can spare it makes a world of difference for Keith and his family.
