Chicago lost a legend today. Mike Ditka was more than a football coach. He was Chicago. Tough, passionate, larger than life, and one of a kind. For those of us who remember the '85 Bears, there was nothing quite like the excitement he brought to this city. He gave Chicago something to believe in, something to celebrate, and memories that will last forever. Here at Sarkis, we've been part of the Chicagoland community for more than 60 years. We've seen a lot of Chicago history, but there will never be another Da Coach. Our thoughts are with the Ditka family and all the Bears fans mourning his loss. Rest in peace, Coach. Thanks for the memories. Once a Chicago legend, always a Chicago legend.

Some things you just never outgrow. Our Mickey Mouse pancakes have been making kids smile at Sarkis for years. Bring the kids. Bring the grandkids. Or go ahead and order one for yourself., we won’t judge. Getting to watch one generation grow up and come back with the next is one of our very favorite parts of being Sarkis.

Whether you’re celebrating a win, recovering from a loss, or just here because somebody said Sarkis, we’ve got you covered. Who are you rooting for this season?

A lot changes when school starts back up. New teachers, new roommates, new routines — maybe even a whole new school. But some things don’t have to change. Your favorite table. Your usual order. That Loretta you’ve been thinking about all summer. And Sarkis. We’ve been part of back-to-school seasons for generations. Classes change. Years change. You grow up. Sarkis is still Sarkis. Welcome back. We saved you a seat.

Well… that was a longer break than we planned on here. The good news? Sarkis hasn’t gone anywhere. We’ve been right here doing what we do best — slinging hash, making Disasters, and serving Lorettas. We’ve got some catching up to do… so keep an eye on us. You never know what we might let you in on next.

To get to the diner and coffee shop, located on Gross Point Road in Evanston, there are several options for transportation. If using public transport, take the Metra UP North Line to the Evanston Davis Street Station and walk east on Davis Street until you reach Gross Point Road. Alternatively, take the CTA Purple Line to Dempster Station and walk west on Dempster Street until you reach Gross Point Road.
If driving to the location, take either Ridge Avenue or McCormick Boulevard to arrive at Gross Point Road. There is street parking available nearby as well as a parking lot across from the restaurant.
