14 years. 10 locations. Little marketing budget.
We didn’t scale Pita Pita Mediterranean Grill because we had the perfect strategy. We scaled because our family refused to compromise on quality—even when it would’ve been easier.
But seeing our Naperville location’s challenges, it’s come to our attention that relying on word of mouth may no longer be enough.
Every one of ourlocation across Chicagoland is run by a family member or close friend who’s been with us since the beginning. No investors. No corporate playbook. Just dedication to serving you food we’d put on our own table.
As the the CEO, I’m done hiding behind the scenes. Follow along as we pull back the curtain on how we actually run this business—the wins, the losses, and everything we learned the hard way.

You’ve probably heard the buzzword “Halal”…
But what does it actually mean when it comes to food?
It means the animals are treated very ethically and cleanly before it is served to your table. We don’t talk about this enough because there simply is just not enough education about it. The animals were treated well and didn’t supper during preparation. They are not exposed to anything they are not supposed to, and there are also a limited number of butcheries that offer halal certified meats, which naturally adds to the overhead cost. But unlike the chains who cut corners at all cost, we as a family-run local chain care about what we serve to our guests table, because we eat this everyday. We want to treat you the same way we’d like to treat our own health, so the quality is non-negotiable.
