❤️ HEY COUSINS, I HAVE TO GIVE A SPECIAL SHOUTOUT! ❤️

I want to take a minute to thank two amazing parents who trusted me with their babies today. 🥹❤️

Today I needed a little extra help in the kitchen, but more than that, I wanted to give a couple of young people an opportunity to come into Kisha’s Kitchen, get some hands-on experience, and see what it’s really like working inside a busy restaurant.

And cousins… THESE BABIES DID THEIR THING! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

💕 Autumn was up front, and most of y’all probably saw her today. She was so sweet, respectful, and attentive. She kept up with the in-store orders AND Uber Eats, making sure y’all had your food, desserts, drinks, and everything that went with your orders. Baby girl handled that front! 💪🏾❤️

👨🏾‍🍳 Chris was in the back with us getting the REAL kitchen experience! 😂 We showed him how to move around the kitchen, drop chicken, drop fish, keep his area clean, practice food safety, and understand how important it is to clean as you go.

And what impressed me the most was both of them were extremely respectful. No attitudes. No talking back. No complaining. If I asked them to do something, they did it. They listened, learned, and worked. THAT says a lot about the babies, but it also says a whole lot about the parents raising them. ❤️👏🏾

So to their parents, THANK YOU for trusting me with your babies. I don’t take that lightly. Thank you for allowing me to teach them, work with them, and give them a little experience that hopefully they can carry with them.

And Autumn & Chris… y’all won me over! 😂❤️ So cousins, this definitely won’t be the last time you see these two around Kisha’s Kitchen! Y’all might catch them on their days off from school or helping us out on the weekends.

I’m proud of both of y’all. Keep being respectful, keep learning, and keep working hard. ❤️

Y’all, I gotta tell y’all something because WHY did this randomly pop back in my head? 😂😂😂

So boom, sometime over the summer I had a little special going on at the restaurant. It was this little boy who kept coming up to the store on his bike. He had to be about 10 or 11 years old.

The first time he came in, he had a mask on. I told him, “You gotta take that mask off in here.” Baby, he was MAD because I made him take that mask off. 😂 I’m like, sir… I don’t know you! Take that mask off!

Anyway, this little boy had a whole HUSTLE going. He would come up there and ask my customers if they could buy him something to eat. And s**t, apparently his hustle was working because different customers kept buying him food! 😂

So he comes back to pick up another order. I’m talking to my cashier like, “He ordered something?”

She like, “Yeah! And this like his THIRD order!” 😂😂😂

Baby had a whole dinner, Kool-Aid, dessert… EVERYTHING! At this point, I’m like damn, he eating better than some of us! 😭😂

So I give him his food, and before he leaves, he looks at me and goes, “You the boss?”

I said, “No.”

He said, “You work here?”

I said, “Yeah.”

Then he asked AGAIN, “You the boss?”

I finally said, “YES!” 😂

Y’ALL… WHY THIS LITTLE 10-YEAR-OLD GONNA LOOK ME DEAD IN MY FACE AND SAY:

“Your attitude is something else.”

EXCUSE ME, SIR?!?!

I don’t even know why I’m sitting here thinking about that little boy tonight, but I’m still offended. 😂😂😂 I might have to ride down 115th Halsted and see if I can find my little friend because apparently we still got unfinished business. 😭😂

HEY COUSINS! ❤️

Let me just say this… Y’ALL UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT TODAY! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

At about 11:05 this morning, my first customers pulled up. They sat outside, waited patiently, didn’t bother anybody, didn’t complain, didn’t rush us NOTHING ! ❤️

Then everybody else started pulling up, y’all formed your line, followed directions, waited patiently for your food, and showed us so much love.

WE WERE EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY BUSY TODAY! 😮‍💨🔥 And I truly want to say THANK YOU! I appreciate every single one of y’all who came out, supported us, and understood that we were doing our absolute best to get everybody taken care of.

Now… I do have to address the FEW people who came in complaining.

Cousins, anytime I run a SPECIAL, the post clearly says UNTIL SOLD OUT. That means I prepare a certain amount of food specifically for that special, and once it’s gone… IT’S GONE.

Please don’t come in upset with me because you arrived at 2:30, 4:30, or 5:30 and the special was already sold out. Some customers were outside before we even opened. People waited patiently, and some customers were ordering 5, 10, or more dinners at a time. You don’t know what the people ahead of you are ordering.

And telling me, “I drove from far away” doesn’t change the fact that the special was UNTIL SOLD OUT. I appreciate you making that drive to support Kisha’s Kitchen, I really do, but a special is NEVER guaranteed to last all day.

I don’t want the complaints from a few people to overshadow the HUNDREDS of people who came through today, followed directions, waited patiently, showed love, and enjoyed their food. Y’ALL ARE THE REASON WE DO THIS! ❤️🙏🏾

Going forward, I may have to figure out a different way to do these specials so that I can make sure my regular, loyal customers who have been rocking with Kisha’s Kitchen get a fair opportunity to enjoy them too. ❤️
