Today, we are deeply saddened by the loss of Pete Garifalis ,a truly good man who played a very important part in our journey.
Pete owned the building in Lombard that was once a restaurant called The Grove.
Years later, he trusted us with his property and gave us the opportunity to open our first breakfast restaurant, Egg House, and follow our dream. That trust meant more to us than he probably ever knew. He believed in us, gave us a chance when we needed it, and was genuinely happy to see us succeed and grow.
Later, when we had the opportunity to open the bar next door to Egg House, we proudly brought back a piece of that history by naming it Grove Tavern. It felt special to carry on the Grove name in the same building Pete had owned for so many years.
Pete also left us something very special ,one of his recipes. In his honor, we call it “Pete’s Salmon.” Every time we prepare and serve that dish, it will remind us of him and the kindness he shared with us. It is a small way that his memory and a piece of his legacy will continue to live on at Grove Tavern.
It was truly a pleasure and a blessing to have known such a good man. We will always be grateful for his trust, his kindness, and the role he played in our story. Pete will always be remembered as part of the journey that made Egg House and Grove Tavern what they are today.

Our hearts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. May he rest in peace. 🙏🕊️

SIX YEARS AGO TODAY — IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PANDEMIC — Tony, Tim, Bani took a leap of faith and opened our first Egg House in Lombard.

❤️ THEN CAME ABC 7 — THE MOMENT THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING FOR US.

We will never forget when Patrick walked in and asked if we wanted to be on ABC 7. Later, Rovi came, listened to our story, and shared how we started during the PANDEMIC.
Lombard community showed up for us in an incredible way. At a time when we needed hope the most, your kindness and support helped keep our dream alive. We are forever grateful🤍

Thank you to ABC 7, the Lombard community, and all our hardworking employees who stood beside us.

Today, Egg House has grown to three locations, along with our sister restaurant, Grove Tavern.

FROM THE PANDEMIC TO LIVING OUR AMERICAN DREAM. 🇺🇸❤️

To get to the breakfast & brunch restaurant and coffee shop on West Street Charles Road in Lombard, you can take the Metra Union Pacific West Line and get off at Lombard Station. From there, you can walk south along South Main Street until you reach West St. Charles Road. The restaurant will be on your right.

If you're driving, take the I-355 and exit onto Butterfield Road heading east. Turn right onto South Main Street and continue until you reach West St. Charles Road. Look for street parking in the area or park in the lot next to the restaurant (if available).
