So, three things.
1. Apparently today is National Burger Day
2. Apparently we are in the top 10 list mentioned in this article but it’s behind a paywall so we’ll have to go with what we heard. According to Steve, we know there are at least more than 11 burger places in DuPage, so, pretty good.
3. Ok So, if 1 and 2 are correct, dining with us tonight seems like a decent option, in our opinion. Plus we have pie (flavors are still a tbd at this point. Stay tuned).

Glen Ellyn Honors Local "Superman" Jonathan Charbonneau

The Glen Ellyn 4th of July Committee is pleased to announce Jonathan Charbonneau as Grand Marshal of its upcoming Independence Day Parade.

Jonathan, a Glen Ellyn resident with autism, is well known throughout the community for appearing as Superman at local events for more than 35 years. His story was recently told through the documentary Saving Superman, produced by Brendan Fraser, and winner of the 2025 Critics' Choice Documentary Award.

Saving Superman follows Jonathan’s life in Glen Ellyn, where he is celebrated for his everyday acts of kindness.

A special screening of Saving Superman will take place on Saturday, April 18, at 11 am at the Glen Art Theatre, 540 Crescent Blvd.

In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, the Village of Glen Ellyn will issue a proclamation at the Village Board Meeting on Monday, April 13, at 7 pm. Jonathan will be in attendance.

Wisconsin style Fish Fry-Day (and pie!) despite the fact that one of our alma maters busted a lot of brackets this week! Oh, Badgers.😳 Pies are apple caramel crumbles, lemon grapefruit lavender (yum) and a flourless chocolate cake with dried sour cherries and almonds baked in (gluten free). After 4. Fish fry orders and pie are limited and almost always sell out. Happy Friday friends.

As we reflect on nearly ten years in business, we keep coming back to one simple truth and that's Babcocks Grove House is nothing without this wonderful community.

We’re grateful for every guest who walks through our doors and every team member who sincerely cares for them. We’ve always believed this space belongs to all of us. Around these tables, we hope differences, well, soften and conversations begin, which is exactly why you won’t find public WiFi or TVs here (and probably never will if we can help it).

We’re proud to serve neighbors, families, friends and newbies alike with warmth and respect. No matter who you are or where you come from, you’re welcome here. This is YOUR local gathering place (OURS really) and together we make it special.

What we’ve built over the years, despite some saying it couldn’t be done in the downtown we opened in, is something uniquely Lombard as intended, Thank you for being part of it. Yikes, forgot to post: Wisconsin fish fry and pie day. Pies are apple cinnamon crumble, chocolate chip cookie and key lime. Atlantic cod is hand beer battered using “the king of beers”.
