There are some people who walk into a room and change the temperature. Nate was one of them.
It feels unreal to say this, but our friend and teammate, Nathaniel, has passed away. We have been sitting with this heavy truth, trying to understand a world that suddenly feels quieter without him.
Behind the bar, Nate wasnโt just mixing drinks. He was creating small moments of joy. He treated every cocktail like a story and every guest like someone worth knowing. He cared about the craft. He cared about people. He cared in a way that is rare these days.
He came from a life shaped by movement and culture. Born in Argentina to missionary parents. Time spent in Chile and Brazil. He carried all of it with him. That warmth. That sense of humor. That way of talking about soccer like it was a sacred language. He had layers. History. Soul.
And God, the movies.
If you ever stood across from him and let him talk about films, you saw something special. He didnโt just watch them. He lived in them. He felt every frame, every line, every subtle moment. Listening to him made you want to go home, turn off the lights, and watch something with intention again.
But here is the part that stays with us the most. Nate was kind.
He was gentle.
He was the person who made Wasabi feel alive in a way that only he could. He could take a hard day and soften it with a smile or a joke. He made people feel welcome. He made strangers feel like regulars. He made friends everywhere, without even trying.
A lot of you came in because you wanted to see him. Because standing at his bar felt like its own kind of comfort. That is the mark of a good bartender. But it is also the mark of a good human being.
The photo we are sharing today is just one memory, but it says everything. A man full of heart. Full of joy. Full of the kind of energy that is impossible to replace.
We miss him already.
We will carry him with us in the stories we tell, in the laughs we still hear in our heads, in every drink we pour with the same care he showed us.
Rest in peace, Nate.
You brought light into places that needed it.
You mattered to us.
You always will.
It took us time to share this. We have been grieving, searching for the right words, and wishing we didnโt have to write them at all. Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and for loving Nate the way you did.
