The Original Island Shrimp House opened in late July 2015. The restaurant was founded on the belief that good, fresh seafood served in a casual atmosphere was possible in the great Midwest.
Quality & Consistency were non-negotiable. Hard stop!
The casual atmosphere and interior design are meant to emulate the little gems one finds along the seaboard states from Maine to Florida, mostly when on vacation—the places you never forget.
The Original Island Shrimp House offers the fresh taste of lobster, chowder, clams, scallops, and calamari from New England, shrimp and jambalaya from the Gulf of Mexico, and king and snow crab from the icy waters of the Bering Sea.
The overwhelming majority of our seafood comes from the United States; only our cod, haddock, and salmon come from outside of the U.S. All of our seafood is wild-caught, certified sustainable, and almost all chemical-free. Never farm-raised and nothing from countries with questionable food practices.

To get to S Lagrange Road in Palos Park using public transportation, you can take the Metra Rock Island District train to Palos Park station. From there you can take a bus on the Route 381 towards Harlem Avenue and get off at the stop near S Lagrange Road.
If you are driving, you can take I-294 and exit at 95th street towards Hickory Hills. Turn right onto S Lagrange Road and continue driving until you reach your destination. There is plenty of parking available either on the street or in nearby parking lots.
