Anyone who knows Flying Saucer, knows Rebecca. For over 25 years, she’s dedicated herself to creating an authentically welcoming space for our q***r community. Now, we have an opportunity to support her in kind as she finally pursues her long-time dream of getting top surgery.
As for many people, the barrier to this procedure was not a lack of certainty, but the massive associated costs. As a business owner, Pilates instructor and parent, the estimated loss of income, plus ongoing expenses, on top of the cost of the surgery, is staggering. For a good while, it’s what made this feel impossible. But community is powerful, and we have faith in ours to show up for Rebecca the way she’s shown up for so many of us. We know things are generally bananas right now and times are tough, so if you can’t contribute personally, we hope you share this fundraiser so that it might reach someone who can.

To reach N California Avenue in Chicago by public transport, you can take the Blue Line train to California station, then walk north on North California Avenue. Alternatively, you can take the 56 Milwaukee bus to N Milwaukee Ave & W Cortland St stop and then walk south on North California Avenue.
If driving, you can take the I-90/94 expressway and exit at California Ave. There is street parking available but it can be limited during peak hours. Another option is to park in a nearby paid parking lot or garage.
