22 of our 50 employees graduated from high school this past week, and I feel like a proud mom, so I’m gonna gush for a minute.

I’ve had the privilege of watching them grow up over the years. From shy 15-year-olds walking into their first job interview to confident, funny, creative, incredibly smart young adults getting ready for their next chapter.

Between AP classes, sports, clubs, friendships, and everything else life throws at teenagers, they still showed up to work ready to scoop ice cream with a smile and take care of our little community.

The kids behind the counter at Cap’s are so much more than employees to me. Watching them grow into who they are becoming is one of the best parts of this job. So proud of every single one of you. 🤍

While April and May have been packed with some serious competition from 3–9 PM, our 1 PM hours have been all about learning the history of Mount Prospect.

We had so much fun hosting the second graders from Lions Park and Fairview over the last two months! The students got to learn about the old general store that Cap’s Ice Cream now calls home. Every class listened so well… although I’m pretty sure all they could think about was the ice cream waiting for them at the end of the tour. 🍦
