🚧 Dixie Highway Viaduct Drainage Project Update
Homewood officials announced that work on the long-awaited Dixie Highway viaduct drainage project is set to begin June 1, with the full 90-day closure scheduled to start June 8.
Construction is expected to continue through October.
This project will address the chronic flooding issue at the viaduct, including rebuilding the drainage system where a collapsed section has caused problems for decades.
IDOT will coordinate detour routes and make sure signs are posted in advance. Additional updates will be shared through Village communication channels, social media, the Home Sweet Homewood app, and Rave alerts.
Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and watch for posted detour signs during construction.
