The preparation begins! That’s my roughed out recipe for a mere 90-100 buns🤣🤪- which I will make about 4 batches of for tomorrow. Hope you can join us - our in person Lucia celebration after 2 years of remote singing is back- tomorrow at 6:30 am. We will have lots of these saffron buns, lots of candlelight, singing and decaf glögg to help get you into the holiday spirit. See you at dawn! Post Julbord. The clean up begins. We will be here for another few hours washing the dishes and cleaning the pots and pans and more pots and pans and digging the wax out of the candlesticks and scraping all the wax off the table clothes and then wash all the linens and reset the buffet tables for the next week of julbords and the brunch service tomorrow morning and then we’ll wash some more pots and pans and I will start some more batches of cookie dough and Christmas bread. But Julbord 2022 has started off with a bang and so much JOY! It is so wonderful to host this tradition again and to see so many familiar faces and to smell the smells of pickled herring and Janssons Temptation and to think back on all the past 23 years of doing this. So many memories, so much joy- so much exhaustion!😍🤪 Hope to see you here too!
