Ursa Major isn’t just a fresh project from Christian McBride; it’s a collection of rising stars who have already distinguished themselves in the jazz world.
The group of Savannah Harris (drums), Michael King (keys), Nicole Glover (saxophone), and Ely Perlman (guitar) includes graduates of Berklee College of Music, the Thelonius Monk Institute, and Oberlin Conservatory, as well as collaborators with the likes of Wynton Marsalis and Aaron Parks. The captivating quintet will be playing two intimate shows at Garcia’s Chicago on SAT, JUN 6; don’t miss it.

This past week we said goodbye to our first interns ever, as the spring semester wrapped up and they came in for their final shifts.
Kayley and Ava brought incredible energy and enthusiasm day in and day out, and were never hesitant to jump in and help make the magic happen! Thank you both for being part of the Garcia’s Chicago family, we can’t wait to see where your paths take you. 🌹
