Non-alcoholic beverages are serious business at the Duck Inn, and we’re happy to introduce two dealcoholized wines for your sober sipping.
Non-alcoholic wine is a category that still has a lot to prove. Ethanol is not only an intoxicant, it’s also the vehicle for hundreds of flavor compounds, bestowing wine with its complexity. BOLLE’s technique is to generate a secondary fermentation using a specialized strain of yeast that reintroduces flavor compounds while keeping the ABV at around .5%. (This is the same method by which Champagne, a relatively unexciting wine before it’s bubbly, gains both carbonation and depth.) The result is n/a wine that can impress even the most discerning drinker.
Voilà: a Provence-style rosé available by the glass or bottle, and a half-bottle of sparkling blanc de blancs. Both are delicious aperitifs, food-friendly, and ready to keep you refreshed during the final days of our patio.

Wine of the day! 🍷🥩
Our rotisserie duck loves to be paired with a Pinot Noir. We think it’s especially good with the Pinot from Ponzi Vineyards, in the Willamette Valley.
The Ponzi family are pioneers of Oregon winemaking, and their dedication to making world-class wine resulted in the creation of the Laurelwood District AVA, in 2020, the state’s first viticultural designation based on soil type. In this case, the terroir’s ancient layer of basalt and loess retain spring rainwater from vineyards otherwise protected from coastal precipitation. This is super-balanced Pinot is half-off tonight, and every Tuesday, at the Duck Inn.

From downtown Chicago, you can take the CTA Orange Line train to Halsted Station and transfer to Bus Route 8. Get off at the intersection of Loomis St & Canalport Ave and walk south on Loomis St until you reach S Eleanor St. The American restaurant and gastropub is located in this street.
Alternatively, if driving, take I-90/94 W from downtown Chicago towards 31st Street exit. Turn left onto S Union Ave then right onto W 31st Street. Turn left onto S Loomis St and then right onto S Eleanor St where the restaurant is located. Limited street parking is available nearby but it's recommended to use a parking garage or lot nearby such as Mars Parking Lot or Park One Parking Lot.
