Blackbird

Blackbird Blackbird was a critically acclaimed new American restaurant located on W Randolph Street that offered an elegant and imaginative approach to Midwestern cuisine, highlighting farm-fresh ingredients. The restaurant was home base for Executive Chef Paul Kahan, winner of numerous prestigious culinary awards, who partnered with Chef de Cuisine Perry Hendrix to create a classic yet approachable menu. The unique and timeless atmosphere of the restaurant was crafted by Managing Partner and Owner, Donnie Madia, and Architect Thomas Schlesser in 1997, earning them multiple James Beard Awards for Best Restaurant Design. Unfortunately, Blackbird has been permanently closed.

This breed of White Pekin duck comes from a small farm in Louisville where the ducks are only raised three months of the year; when the weather is right for them to have a happy and comfortable life.

The reasoning behind this exciting transition is that we would like to allow the kitchen to be more thoughtful and intimate in the way they go about sourcing - allowing for a more exhilarating menu experience for you.
