This AANHPI Heritage Month, we wanted to show love to some of our favorite local Hawaiian spots here in Chicago 🌺
One thing we’ll always stand behind is collaboration over competition. These local spots are all AAPI-owned, community-driven, and each bringing something special to the table. We may have been serving plate lunch since 2004, but we’re just grateful to still be here alongside so many incredible restaurants continuing to share our cultures, stories, and ono kine grindz with the community.
From poke to musubi, adobo to tiki cocktails… there’s room for all of us, and we’re always excited to support the people pushing our food scene forward 🤙🏽

Kākoʻo Oʻahu 🤍
Recent flooding across Oʻahu has left families displaced and communities facing urgent need.
The Hawaiian Council is already on the ground providing support, resources, and pathways to recovery, continuing the same work they led through Kākoʻo Maui.
Tomorrow April 1st, we’re donating 10% of ALL direct sales (no third party orders, I.e. Uber Eats) to support flood relief efforts .

Aloha friends, Aloha Eats will be open tomorrow 1/30.
Staying open means supporting our small team and continuing to take care of our community during what has been a very quiet stretch for us this winter.
Aloha Eats was founded by my late immigrant father, and it was built on the belief that food is how we show up for one another. We’ll be here doing what he taught me, sharing familiar comfort food and plate lunch made with love.
If you stop in, mahalo for the support.

If you're looking for a taste of Hawaii in the heart of Chicago, Aloha Eats on N Clark Street is the place to go. This Hawaiian restaurant offers authentic "local" food that will transport you straight to the islands. Established in 2004, Aloha Eats has been serving up ono grinds (delicious food) to both kama'aina (Hawaii locals) and mainland folks alike.
One of the standout dishes at Aloha Eats is their plate lunch, which is a classic Hawaiian comfort food. The chicken katsu and BBQ beef plate lunch is a must-try, but there are plenty of other options to choose from as well. And if you're feeling adventurous, be sure to try their Spam fries before they're gone!
But it's not just about the savory dishes at Aloha Eats - they also offer some sweet treats that are sure to satisfy your cravings. Their Li Hing Mui Pineapple Coconut flavor is a unique twist on a classic Hawaiian snack that's worth trying. And if you're in the mood for something sweet and fruity, their Strawberry Mango donut flavor of the week is sure to hit the spot.
Overall, Aloha Eats is a great spot for anyone looking for authentic Hawaiian cuisine in Chicago. With its cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, it's no wonder why this restaurant has been around for almost two decades. So next time you're craving some ono grinds or just want to experience a taste of Hawaii, head over to Aloha Eats on N Clark Street!
