This is me. I smile. I love. I care. I work hard. I want to provide for my family. I want to live a healthy life. I tell my people people to “work hard, don’t worry about what they say get your money... I say yea we gotta do more to get half as much... but why?? Why is that the norm? Why do WE ALL KNOW THIS???? Why when I walk down the street you cross? Why was any coopers default to say African American male threatening me? Like that’s all she knew she had to say. Shuttle racism isn’t still racism. Do all lives matter? Yep but that’s not the point.. we’re yelling black lives matter because WE HAVE TO KEEP REMINDING YOU!! If there was no technology to capture these atrocities they all would’ve been swept under the rug. Change won’t happen until you feel as outraged as the people being oppressed. It’s not enough to have a black friend. It’s not enough to have conversations. Change needs to happen. Change your mind. Change your thought process. We are human. I bleed like you bleed, I breathe like you breathe. I’m a black man who is proud to be one but also scared because I am one. Let’s change that.
