🚴♂️ The road starts here!
We had the pleasure of meeting Rory Perlow (.justrory) at Navy Pier this morning as he begins an incredible journey. Over the next 45 days, the Highland Park native will bike solo from Pier to Pier along Historic Route 66 — 2,200 miles from Chicago's Navy Pier all the way to Santa Monica.
Before setting off, Rory was joined by friends and former Deerfield High School classmates who came out to send him off in style. The group commemorated the occasion with a photo at Navy Pier's Route 66 Starting Point sign. He also posed for a photo with Harry Caray's CEO, Grant DePorter, and stopped inside for a photo in front of the Route 66 mural at Harry Caray's Navy Pier — the First Stop on Route 66.
Rory will be livestreaming his journey on Kick and documenting daily on Instagram and TikTok at .justrory — head there to find the link to his livestream and follow every mile of the ride.
We're proud to be part of the first chapter of his epic solo adventure and wish him safe travels, smooth riding, and unforgettable experiences along the Mother Road. Good luck, Rory — we'll be following along! 🚲✨

What people say
American restaurants are known for their delicious food, friendly atmosphere, and unique dining experiences. Harry Caray's Tavern on Navy Pier in Chicago is no exception. This American restaurant is located near the main entrance to Navy Pier and offers a waterfront location with stunning views of Lake Michigan. The family-friendly menu and world-class collection of sports memorabilia make it the ultimate Chicago dining experience.
One of the best things about Harry Caray's Tavern on Navy Pier is its impressive roster of celebrity partners, including Patrick Kane, Ryne Sandberg, Richard Dent, and many other famous athletes, Hollywood stars, and radio personalities. The restaurant's patio offers the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of Lake Michigan and the excitement of Navy Pier.
Harry Caray's Tavern on Navy Pier also boasts HDTVs throughout the restaurant and around the bar that provide great viewing of all major sporting events. Guests can enjoy a true taste of Chicago with a menu that includes flavorful sandwiches and burgers, salads, oven-fired pizzas alongside a selection of creative cocktails, beer, and wine.
The restaurant's story is also fascinating - inspired by a night when Elvis Presley invited Harry Caray to Graceland where they hung out all night talking baseball while eating ribs. This story has inspired Harry Caray's Tavern on Navy Pier to create a BBQ and Beer focused menu that includes an original pair of Elvis' iconic glasses on display at the center of the restaurant.
Overall, Harry Caray's Tavern on Navy Pier is an excellent American restaurant that offers delicious food in a friendly atmosphere with stunning views of Lake Michigan. It is definitely worth checking out if you're in Chicago!
