Cantina Laredo Cantina Laredo, a modern Mexican restaurant located in the heart of Chicago’s River North neighborhood, served authentic dishes and drinks using only the best ingredients from the local area. The stunning stone and glass freestanding building at the corner of State and Illinois welcomed guests with complimentary, house-made chips and stellar salsas upon entering the bustling restaurant. Executive Chef Daniel Espinoza created made-to-order "Top Shelf" guacamole tableside while Eugenio Ortiz served as Sous Chef. Cantina Laredo's specialties included breakfast, coffee, lunch, dinner and drinks, while offering services such as delivery, catering, groups, kids' menu, outdoor seating option, reservation option and take-out service. Unfortunately, this restaurant is now permanently closed.

We must discontinue delivery and carryout service from our restaurant.

Together we must flatten the curve of communal spread.

Closing the restaurant is an extremely difficult decision. We see little choice.

Our priority is the health and safety of our guests and teams. Effective today, our restaurant must close. Our restaurant has always been a place for social gatherings, and soon we hope provide the space to do so again. As more cases of the coronavirus are reported, please know that we are adhering to all state and public health guidelines. We have precautions in place to protect the health of our guests and our team.

1. We will continue to thoroughly sanitize our restaurants and maintain a vigorous cleaning protocol during peak hours. This includes wiping down chairs and tables, door handles, coat rack areas, menus and various other items and areas that serve as potential touchpoints for germs.

2. In keeping with our provisions of accessible seating to accommodate people using wheelchairs, all guests will have a clear floor area of 30" x 48" in between tables.

3. We have added hand sanitizer stations in the front of each restaurant. We recommend that everyone use these sanitizers as you enter and exit our restaurants.

4. In our kitchens, all our food handlers always wear gloves, which are changed often. Their hands are washed in between glove changes.

5. We are proactive about the safety of our teams and guests. We ask our team members to stay home if they are feeling ill or have a family member that is ill.

Please remember that the food service industry is heavily regulated by health officials and has long had protocols in place.

The safety and health of all guests and team is our top priority. We will continue following the federal and state public health guidelines as they are developing with regards to the COVID-19 virus. Our team will continue to monitor the situation and follow-up with guests as necessary.

To get to N State Street in Chicago, you can take the CTA Red Line train and get off at the Grand station. From there, walk east on Grand Avenue until you reach N State Street.

If you prefer to drive, take I-90/94 and exit at Ohio Street. Turn left onto N LaSalle Drive and then turn right onto E Grand Avenue. Finally, turn left onto N State Street.

There are several parking options nearby including a parking garage located at 10 E Grand Avenue and street parking is also available.
