POP UP ALERT!!!

Coffee infused ramen is coming to the heart of Logan Square Thursday, March 5th from 5p - 8p at Pedestrian Coffee (2642 N Milwaukee Ave).

approached us with the idea to do a pop up. Deciding what that would look like ultimately ended up in the merging of concepts….and the coffee infused ramen was born.

Take a close look at that second photo and you’ll see the coffee beans in the upper chamber of the siphon adding just a touch of savory, roasty goodness to the broth.

We’re really digging it and think you will, too. If you can’t make it this Thursday, try again next Thursday. At this point, the plan is to feature this via a pop up every Thursday for the foreseeable future.

In addition to the ramen options, other items on the menu will include:

-house made matcha, hojicha and cold brew ice creams
-non-dairy & dairy versions of a Vietnamese iced coffee

Yes. There is indeed ramen brewing in that coffee siphon.

The owners of the cafe and BánhMi Spot are launching Masaka Ramen on Thursday, offering a weekly twist on the Japanese dish.

INTRODUCING:

The Rosemary + Grapefruit Latte

The latte is comprised of an all-natural, house made syrup using real organic rosemary sprigs, pink salt and organic and sugar. After combining with espresso and your choice of milk, we express it with an organic grapefruit peel.

The feedback has been super positive so far. Pretty sure you’ll like it.

It’s our spring seasonal. So, get it while you can and let’s keep crossing our fingers that winter is truly coming to a close. You never know in Chicago.

I polled staff today to include them in this tough decision to close tomorrow (Friday). I told them that I can’t afford to pay them if we do choose to close…and that in essence, we’ll all be in the same boat—that being to choose to stand up for something important to us—even though we will endure some level of hardship for it.

But when the stakes are this high, it’s important to sacrifice. My team knows this and overwhelmingly voted (anonymous poll) to stand in solidarity with Minneapolis and the rest of the nation and beyond who see what’s happening in the US right now.

So, we’re asking you to do the same. Stand with Minneapolis. Stand with those human beings who are aren’t being treated as such. Stand with those who have risked their lives to protest injustice. Stand with those who have lost their lives protesting injustice.

We’ll be back open Friday—and we could use your support to make up for the lost revenue….and so will the other businesses who chose to close.

And then Sunday will come…and Monday….and life will likely move on for most of us—but not for all of us.

So please, find ways to continue to stand in solidarity with your community.

Grateful we still have the freedom to do this. Let’s not loose that freedom!

Stocking stuffer coffee alert!

In addition to our usual offering, we have some unique and special options on the smaller size that wrap up well as a shoebox set or individually as they’re very stocking stuffer size friendly.

We currently have three coffees in our “Elite Coffee Series” - these coffees have won awards or have highly unique flavor profiles that warrant their special treatment.

For the record, we use a “stop light” color coding system to help you pick coffees that suit your palette best:

RED = STOP. These coffees are not for everyone. They’re for off-the-beaten-path coffee drinkers who enjoy fruit, savory notes, some fermenty or even winey notes. Really stellar coffees though, for sure (some of our favorites).

YELLOW = PROCEED WITH CAUTION. These coffees are more approachable. They tend to introduce you to some of the nuance of the RED category coffees, without being too over-the-top. Think RED-lite. ;)

GREEN = GO! Don’t second guess these coffees. They’re crowd pleasers. If you like to keep it “pedestrian”, these coffees are for you. Not sure what type of coffees your friends and family like? GREEN is your answer. They’re quality—just more approachable and recognizable flavor profiles—think top notch diner coffee.

If you’ve read this far, you may have noticed our Stocking Stuffer blend. Don’t let the holiday colors confuse you—while it has a blend of each style of coffee (RED, YELLOW & GREEN). It’s blended in proportions that make it very approachable and a rather sweet cup—designed to satisfy the masses.

This holiday season, we’re urging you to shop small! 🛍️✨ It feels like we say this every year, but staying afloat regularly comes with new hurdles. It’s SO important to support your local Chicago businesses. With challenges like tariffs and price increases, we can’t absorb these costs like the big corporations can. As we head into Black Friday and the holiday season, remember that the major companies don’t need your money, your community does! So let’s make sure we ALL shop local: not just now, but all year long. Join us in celebrating our community and commit to SHOP SMALL.

Oh….and take a bag of coffee to Thanksgiving. Someone will thank you. Happy Holidays!
