Wow Bao was a popular Chinese and Asian fusion restaurant that had quickly become a hit among Chicagoans. Known for its delicious steamed bao, the restaurant also offered fresh Pad Thai salad, soups, and rice bowls topped with Teriyaki or Kung Pao chicken. Their menu also included signature homemade ginger ale and Thai iced coffee. Additionally, some locations served potstickers and breakfast foods, while all menus had healthy and vegetarian options available. Wow Bao was a small footprint fast-casual concept that specialized in noodle & rice bowls, pan-seared potstickers, fresh made salads, hearty soups, and their iconic Bao – steamed hot Asian buns with savory and sweet fillings. The restaurant catered to groups of all sizes, offered outdoor seating options as well as takeout services. Wow Bao first opened its doors back in 2003 as a compact kiosk located in the main entrance of Chicago's Water Tower Place Mall. Since then it has expanded rapidly with company-owned locations across airports, college campuses, MLB stadiums, NFL stadiums, hotels and grocery stores. However the website of this restaurant has not been updated for more than 5 years so it might be closed down now.

To reach the restaurant on N Michigan Avenue, you can take the Red Line or the CTA Bus to the Grand-Red Station. From there, walk for about 5 minutes northbound on Michigan Avenue until you reach the restaurant.
If driving, take Lake Shore Drive and exit at Illinois Street. Turn west onto Illinois Street and drive west for approximately one mile until you reach Michigan Avenue. Turn right (north) onto Michigan Avenue and continue for about two blocks until you see the restaurant. Parking is available in nearby garages, such as the Grand Plaza Self Park Garage located one block east of Wow Bao on Ohio street, or the Millennium Park garage just a few blocks south of Wow Bao on Columbus Drive.
