Chicago Lunchbox was established in 2013 by Tanya & John Nguyen as the first cook on board food truck to offer Asian cuisine. The menu is inspired by traditional Asian dishes from Vietnam, Korea, Thailand and the Phillipines with innovative twists that is never short of flavor.

This week marks an especially difficult one for our Lunchbox family. Over the past year, we were working tirelessly on our newest venture, which was going to be a brick and mortar in the Edgewater/Rogers Park neighborhood. We were eagerly anticipating the day we could announce our Grand Opening and our final step of getting a long awaited inspection was scheduled for yesterday. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen due to a fire that destroyed the restaurant late Wednesday night.

We are heartbroken and devastated that our dream was ripped away in a matter of hours, but we are focusing on rebuilding it bigger and better as soon as possible.

We want to thank our family and friends, the food truck community, our loyal customers and even strangers on the street for the tremendous outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Your words are keeping us uplifted when we know being positive is essential to moving forward and rebuilding. We shall rise from these ashes. Stay tuned…

The location of the fast food restaurant and sandwich shop on S. Financial in Chicago can be easily accessed via public transportation or by driving.

For those taking public transportation, take the train to the LaSalle/Van Buren station and walk south on LaSalle St. until you reach S. Financial Pl. Turn left onto S. Financial Pl and you will arrive at your destination.

If driving, parking can be found at nearby garages on South Wells Street or East Jackson Boulevard. From there, head west on South Jackson Boulevard and turn right onto South Financial Place where the fast food restaurant and sandwich shop is located.

Additionally, for those who prefer a mobile food experience, the food truck can often be spotted parked along South Financial Place or nearby streets.
