It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Chef Steven Fiore Chiappetti (1967-2026), Vice President of Food & Beverage for Dreamweaver Hotels and the culinary force behind the dining experiences at Hotel EMC2, Autograph Collection and theWit Chicago, A Hilton Hotel.

Steve was more than a chef and leader. He was the heart of our kitchens and a guiding light for our teams. His approach to food was rooted in generosity, creativity and connection, and his belief in hospitality as a way to bring people together shaped every menu, every space and every experience he touched.

A trailblazer in Chicago’s culinary community, Steve brought both vision and warmth to his work. He thrived on building teams, mentoring talent and creating environments where people felt inspired, supported and proud of what they were building together.

Above all, Steve believed in making room at the table. For ideas. For people. For joy. His presence will be felt for years to come in the restaurants he shaped, the teams he led and the countless guests who experienced his hospitality. We are profoundly grateful for the time we shared with him and for the legacy he leaves behind.

Our hearts are with his wife Leslie, his children Grace and Leonardo and all who loved him.
