Dear Patrons,
It is with a heavy heart we inform you of the loss of our founder and namesake, Eduardo Castañeda, known to all as Don Lalo. A pioneer and pillar of the Hispanic community in Chicagoland, Don Lalo was beloved by all that knew him well. On Tuesday, September 24th, Lalo’s will be closed as the Castañeda family mourns the loss of Don Lalo. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We will reopen on Wednesday, September 25th, at our normal hour. We thank you for your comprehension and patience during this solemn time.

Con profunda tristeza, les informamos del fallecimiento de nuestro querido fundador, quien dio su nombre al restaurante, Eduardo Castañeda, conocido por todos como Don Lalo. Pionero y pilar de la comunidad hispana en Chicago, Don Lalo fue una persona muy querida por todos quienes tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo. El martes 24 de septiembre, el restaurante Lalo's permanecerá cerrado para acompañar a la familia Castañeda en su duelo. Lamentamos los inconvenientes que esto pueda causar y agradecemos de antemano su comprensión. Reanudaremos nuestro horario habitual el miércoles 25 de septiembre. Gracias por su apoyo y paciencia en este momento tan difícil.

To get to the restaurant located on S Harlem Avenue in Berwyn, for public transport option, you can take the CTA Blue Line to the Harlem stop and then take either the Pace bus southbound on Harlem or walk south on foot. Alternatively, you can also take Metra BNSF line to Berwyn station and walk east on Stanley Ave until reaching S Harlem Ave.
For driving option, if you are coming from northbound 1-294, exit at Ogden Ave and turn right onto Ogden Ave heading east. Then turn left onto Ridgeland Ave heading north and finally turn right onto S Harlem Ave heading northeast until you arrive at the restaurant. If you are coming from southbound 1-294 or eastbound I-55, exit at Joliet Rd and turn left onto Joliet Rd heading west. Then turn left onto S Ridgeland Ave heading south and finally turn right onto S Harlem Ave heading southwest until you arrive at your destination.
Parking options include street parking along S Harlem Avenue or there is a large parking lot behind the building accessible through Stanley Avenue.
