Have you seen Goose Island’s most recent feature yet?
Last Saturday came by to install the new set, Space is a Place. “A nod to Sun-Ra, yes, both in name and subject matter, with a dish of pop art psychedelia thrown in. But ‘a place,’ not ‘the place.’ Floating solitarily, with our little hand held supercomputers in our pockets.”
Clark says the work is meant to be a respite from the grimmer realities of life. “The world seems particularly cruel at the moment, with horror to spare. The bright and garish colors, simplistic designs are meant to evoke a child’s imagination. Technology has evolved beyond all predictions, integrated in every level of our lives, yet somehow left us further apart.”
In order to stay creative, Clark keeps some music handy when he’s working. “Jazz is particularly beneficial. No lyrics to attach to thoughts, just following my pen as the contours of sound move around.”
“Inspiration can be found everywhere: in the lyrics of a song, an overheard conversation. I was watching a movie with subtitles recently, and a particular phrase was translated wrong, but the mistake was almost like a short story in one sentence. A little mystery born of chance.”

It is with a sad heart and somber tone that we announce the closing of our Logan Square Café at the end of this month. We have decided to focus on our Goose Island cafe and finally open the doors to our long awaited new cafe opening in March in the same building as our Roastery at 328 N Albany Ave.
Since opening our doors in 2017, we were honored to have been lovingly welcomed into the Logan Square community, and have watched it blossom and grow over the past 7 years around our little corner store.
As this chapter closes, we wish to thank each and every one of you who contributed in helping Logan become an integral part of Passion House’s evolution, and we to see each of you again in the not too distant future.

Goose Island’s newest installation features the work of . Temur is a mixed media artist who works with various everyday materials collected around his home while incorporating specific stories, cultures, and symbolism. “I strive to create work that not only captures attention, but also touches the heart and mind.”
Each piece takes Temur several weeks to complete. First, he brainstorms a central focus while he gathers his materials. “This process allows me to create a piece of artwork that is unique, personal, and full of depth and meaning. I continue to experiment with different arrangements and compositions until there is one that feels the most compelling and visually engaging.”
When the materials are gathered and arranged, he uses spray paint to isolate the central theme of the piece. “The artwork takes on different meanings and interpretations depending on the perspective of the viewer, which ultimately makes it such a powerful and engaging medium... My goal is to create pieces that are visually striking and intellectually engaging, but also invite viewers to bring their own unique perspectives and interpretations to the work.”
