Located in the heart of Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood, Big Star is a unique establishment that combines a bar and Mexican restaurant to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Executive Chef Paul Kahan and Chef de Cuisine Chris Miller offer an authentic Mexican street food-inspired menu complemented by an extensive house-selected single barrel bourbon program. The taqueria is housed in a defunct 1940s gas station and features classic country and rock & roll music selected and spun by the bar staff. To reach the bar and Mexican restaurant located on N Damen Avenue in Chicago, there are several options for both public transport and driving.
If you're using public transportation, you can take the Blue Line subway to the Damen stop, and then transfer to bus number 50 towards Clybourn/North. Get off at North/Damen and walk a few blocks south to reach your destination.
Alternatively, if you're driving, you can take I-90/94 and exit at North Ave. Head west on North Ave until you reach Damen Avenue, then turn right onto Damen. There is paid street parking available nearby.
