The end is coming quickly, Oct 31st is our last day* Everyone is trying to drink down their favorite cocktails and dishes before they're gone....MaiTai(s) & Dr. Lee(s) pictured tonight. It's been great to see so many regulars stop bye and say their goodbyes and a few new faces too. We will miss you all. (*Let's hope for a miracle that our landlord and a buyer can come to us in time, we would love to pass the tiki torch if the gods make it happen)!!

Words cannot express our deepest gratitude for your continued patronage and support, since we first opened our doors in 2013…this is our HOME AWAY FROM HOME, as we will no longer be greeting our loyal customers from near and far.

We will forever cherish our time at Asian Outpost Hawaiian Hideout and are truly blessed to have had the opportunity to cross paths with such amazing people, vendors/partners, other restauranteurs and our entire AO team.

To those who are unaware, while living in LA, Duane sacrificed his career in the film industry to care for my dad fulltime (he’s the reason why Duane & I moved back to Chicago, which was to continue my dad’s legacy in the restaurant business). Fast forward to present day, it is now my turn to care for Duane’s mom, as her health is deteriorating. Without hesitation, she is now our priority.

We are deeply saddened to have to close this chapter of our lives, especially with such a short turnaround time, as AO Hawaiian Hideout has literally meant EVERYTHING to us!!! Due to our new calling, we will be closing our doors on October 31, 2026.

If you or you know someone who is interested in taking over AO Hawaiian Hideout, a well established turnkey restaurant with regular rotation of daily lunch/catering orders from downtown companies, repeat customers and walk-ins from McCormick Place, museums, SF and NI events; this would truly be a prosperous opportunity for any prospective restauranteur, in addition to providing our 75 year old family drink/food recipes.

I have created a restaurant profile that lists all benefits/assets/equipment/lease info/revenue highlights/growth opps/vendor contacts, for a very very very reasonable price OR if you are in need of any solid team members for your own establishment: chefs, servers or dishwashers, all of whom have been with us since 2013. We sincerely thank you again for all of your love and support and really hope to see as many folks as possible before our last day on October 31st. We will keep you posted on updates .
