🎉 UPDATE FROM SH**UN! 🎉
We’re excited to share that we've officially received our Health Department approval! ✅
The final step before we can welcome everyone back into our dining room is receiving approval from the Building Department. We're working closely with the inspectors and are hopeful to reopen our doors for dine-in very soon.
In the meantime, we are OPEN for CARRYOUT! 🍱🥢 If you've been craving your Sh**un favorites, give us a call and let us take care of dinner while we put the finishing touches on our reopening.
We can't thank everyone enough for your patience, encouragement, and support throughout this journey. Your loyalty has meant everything to us, and we can't wait to fire up the hibachi grills and welcome you all back home.

Didn't imagine we would run into this from a contractor that specializes in restoration and does "First Priority" work.
You can only be patient for so long until you see what's really going on.
This has been the hold up, and now your Sh**un Family will be finishing up the remaining work.
Chef hats to hard hats for a few days.

🚧 Rebuild Update 🚧
We're excited to share that the new floors are finally coming in! After weeks of planning, cleanup, repairs, and restoration, seeing this major milestone take shape brings us one step closer to welcoming everyone back through our doors.
While we're eager to reopen, we're continuing to stay patient and focused on doing things the right way. Every detail matters, and we're committed to making sure Sh**un returns better than ever for our guests, staff, and community.
The finish line is in sight, and with each day we get closer to our Grand Re-Opening. Thank you all for your continued support, encouragement, and patience throughout this journey. We can't wait to serve you again soon.

One step closer. 🙏✨
After being boarded up since the fire, our glass door has finally been replaced and seeing it back up is such an emotional and motivating milestone for us.
This journey has tested our patience and strength, but the love, support, messages, and encouragement from our amazing community have meant more to us than words can express. Thank you for standing by us through it all.

To our valued guests and supporters,
We want to sincerely thank everyone for the continued patience, support, and understanding during this difficult time. We anticipated the restoration and construction work being completed by now based on the schedule provided to us, but unfortunately several unexpected delays have continued to push the timeline back.
Please know that we are becoming just as impatient as many of you are. Every single day, we have been respectfully and persistently trying to get answers and updates regarding the hold-ups so we can reopen our doors as soon as possible.
As a family-owned small business, this situation has been incredibly frustrating and emotionally challenging. We had every intention of reopening according to the original construction schedule, and it has been disappointing to see those timelines repeatedly fall through despite our best efforts.
That said, renovations are continuing to move forward, and we remain committed to coming back stronger for our community. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back once the work is finally complete.
Thank you again for standing by us through all of this. Your support truly means everything to our family and team.

Temporary closed doesn’t mean the food stops flowing 😆
Took a little field trip to the Aurora Food Truck Festival during our downtime and WOW… Aurora showed up! Great people, loud music, and enough amazing food to put us in a food coma 😅
While we’re still rebuilding after the fire, moments like this remind us how strong and supportive our community is. We’re soaking in inspiration, enjoying the local food scene, and getting more excited every day to reopen our doors bigger, better, and stronger 💪🔥
Until then… if you see us walking around with food truck sauces on our shirts, mind your business 😂

Another uneasy weekend with our doors temporarily closed. After years of serving this community every weekend, it’s still a strange feeling not seeing the dining room full of familiar faces.

The good news, the rebuild is continuing to move forward and we are getting closer every single day to reopening. We did experience some unexpected lead time delays on a few materials during the restoration process, but those items are now back on track and work is progressing again.
Every day brings new progress, and we can finally start seeing everything come back together piece by piece. Your support, messages, and patience through all of this have truly meant the world to us and our family.
We miss serving you all more than you know, and we promise it will be worth the wait. We shall see everyone again very soon. ❤️🔥

This Mother’s Day weekend feels a little different for us.
For the first time in many years, our doors will remain temporary closed as we continue the restoration and renovation process following the fire incident.
It’s an uneasy feeling not being able to celebrate alongside all of the amazing mothers and families who have made Sh**un part of their traditions over the years.
But with every day of rebuilding, every repair completed, every floor installed, and every milestone reached, we are getting closer and closer to welcoming everyone back home.
The progress being made behind the scenes has been incredible, and we cannot thank our community enough for the continued support, patience, and encouragement during this time. Your messages and kind words have truly carried us through.
While we may be closed this Mother’s Day, please know that Sh**un is rebuilding stronger than ever, and we cannot wait to celebrate with all of you again very soon.

🔥 REBUILD DAY 3 🔥
Today hit differently. Seeing one of our tables fully rebuilt after the fire almost brought us to tears. What was damaged and filled with smoke just days ago is finally starting to feel like home again.
A huge thank you to DeLeon Construction for stepping in immediately within minutes after we announced the incident and raising their hand to help without hesitation.
Their highly skilled carpenter has executed absolutely top-notch work, and we truly can’t thank them enough for helping bring Sh**un back to life.
✅ Deep cleaning is now 100% COMPLETE
✅ Table rebuild
⏭️ Table countertop will be underway
⏭️ Floors and ceiling tiles are up next
Every single day we’re getting closer to reopening our doors, firing up the grills again, and welcoming everyone back. The love, support, and messages from the community have meant everything to us during this rebuild process.

To get to the teppanyaki restaurant located on S Route 59 in Naperville, you have several transportation options. If you prefer public transport, you can take the Metra BNSF Railway Line and disembark at the Naperville station. From there, you can take a taxi or a bus that will drop you off near the restaurant.
If driving is your preferred mode of transport, take route IL-59 and turn onto 95th Street. Then turn onto Trappers Drive and take a left on Showplace Dr. You will find ample parking space near your destination.
