Went to Maple Tree Inn and sadly for me it was a disappointment this time around. We arrived at 5:15pm shortly after opening, so I was expecting a quality of freshness.

The cornbread which is always a hit was a total flop. I ordered 2 and it came out in 5 minutes. It was thin and dry. You can see the line in the skillet where the cornbread usually rises too. When I was leaving I saw tables with the correct cornbread. I feel like they gave us the leftovers from the day before.

I crave New Orleans style charbroiled oysters. I was told the fried oysters were better than the oyster Bienville. Well these too were trash. I didn't like the batter and adding the cheese was just atrocious and unnecessary.

The jambalaya was tasty. The people that ordered it loved it. It has good seasoning and a nice spicy kick.

I didn't ordered an entree because most of the items were labeled spicy. I didn't order the fried catfish because I thought it might be fried with the same batter as the oysters. However when I finally saw someone else's plate it looked pretty good and a different batter. Maybe I will try it next time

My thoughts on the chicken bolognese. I like it. The ground Italian chicken sausage was good, way better than ground turkey and a great alternative for ground beef. I was able to get 3 servings from 2 servings.

My tweeks: I added mushrooms and a half can Italian dices tomatoes. Pulsed the tomatoes in a mini processor and boom..more sauce
