Ipsento is high traffic, quality-focused cafe. Our mission is to engage people with an immensely satisfying experience. In addition to brilliant coffee, we offer made-to-order sandwiches and a few other small food items. Our 606 location features a full bar at night and hand-crafted donuts all day.
The job requires extensive training. Fully certified baristas take an average of two months to complete their training and pass our certification exam. So, be prepared to make sandwiches, wash dishes, bus tables, smile at customers, and make pourover after pourover until you pass the espresso certification and get to make espresso drinks.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Greet and interact with all customers, working toward our mission to engage people with an immensely satisfying experience
Embody our core values of integrity, knowledge, excellence, engagement, and ownership
Fulfill all scheduled shifts
Check all work e-mails prior to starting your shift
Complete checklist for your assigned role every day
Adhere to appearance policy at all times
Prepare coffee and tea with acute attention to our standards of quality
Maintain product knowledge regarding all coffee, tea, pastries, and food items, staying up to date on seasonal menu changes, and accurately communicating product information to customers. Respond to questions, orders, and concerns
Properly and gently handle and maintain all coffee brewing equipment
Contribute to store profitability by following cash handling and cash register policies and procedures.
Assist in the development of new employees
Offer relevant ideas and suggestions for improving store operations
Attend scheduled training sessions and staff meetings to advance education on coffee, tea, merchandise, and espresso bar skills.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
Retail and/or customer service experience preferred.
Coffee experience recommended.
