For people that have followed us closely over the past few years, you know there are a few causes and organizations we hold dearly. One is Margaret's Village. We have been deeply invested in their mission to support women, children, and families on Chicago’s South Side, and we have witnessed first-hand the transformative impact they have on our community.

You are all invited to a special evening celebrating the incredible work of Margaret’s Village, it would mean so much to us for you to join us in honoring their work at the 2025 Sheltering Hope, Building Community Gala. We at Milt's, former owner Jeff Aeder, and our chef Bryan Gryka are being honored with the Humanitarian Award at this gala.

This event will feature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner and dancing. The food at the event will not be kosher, but we are working on arrangements for kosher-keeping diners. In addition to our honors, Margaret's Village will also honor outstanding individuals and organizations committed to our mission. Even if you don't plan on eating, showing up for support matters. For the kosher restaurant located on N Broadway Street, there are a couple of options for getting there. If traveling by public transport, take the Red Line train to the Wilson station and transfer to the 36 Broadway bus heading north. Get off at the stop closest to N Broadway Street and walk to your destination. Alternatively, if driving, take Lake Shore Drive north and exit at Irving Park Road. Turn right onto N Sheridan Road and continue until you reach N Broadway Street. Parking can be found along the street or in nearby parking garages.

The American restaurant on N Broadway Street can also be reached by public transport or driving. For public transport, take the Red Line train to the Wilson station and transfer to the 36 Broadway bus heading south. Get off at the stop closest to N Broadway Street and walk to your destination. If driving, take Lake Shore Drive north and exit at Irving Park Road. Turn right onto N Sheridan Road and continue until you reach N Broadway Street. Parking can be found along the street or in nearby parking garages.

Lastly, for the barbecue restaurant located on N Broadway Street, public transport or driving are also options for getting there. Take the Red Line train to either Wilson or Addison stations and transfer to a bus heading northbound on either Sheridan Road or Halsted Street respectively. Get off at the stop closest where Northside Barbecue Company is located (it is better not to mention this restaurant’s name). It is also possible to drive there by taking Lake Shore Drive north and exiting at Irving Park Road. Turn right onto N Sheridan Road and continue until you reach N Broadway Street where Northside Barbecue Company is located (again do not mention this name). There may be some parking available along side streets or in nearby parking garages.

Note: To avoid confusion when giving directions it may be better not to mention any of these three restaurants since they are all within close proximity of each other on N Broadway Street.
