Meet our monthly Thursday-only sundae special for May: God Save the Kouign.
If you’ve never had a kouign amann before, imagine the flaky layers of a croissant crossed with the crackly caramelized edges of the best pastry you’ve ever stolen a bite from. It’s buttery, crisp, deeply caramelized, and one of the pastries we're best known for at Kneads & Wants.
This sundae combines chunks of kouign amann with Mediterranean Sea Salt Caramel ice cream, salted caramel sauce, whipped cream, and a cherry.

Happy May the 4th to all our fellow Jedi, rebels, smugglers, droids, and dessert-loving Wookiees.
Usually, this is the day we roll out our galaxy-inspired treats and celebrate one of our favorite unofficial holidays of the year. But since May the 4th falls on a Monday this year, and Mondays are our regular closed day, the bakery will be dark across the galaxy.
Our Star Wars treats will return next year when the force aligns a little better with our schedule. Until then, may the Force be with you.

From a family bakery in Downtown Skokie to the field at Soldier Field. 🖤💙🏈
What an unbelievable night at the draft party with the Chicago Bears. Thanks to being named a Bears Small Business All-Pro, sponsored by PNC Financial Services, we were invited into an experience we will never forget.
We spent time with D'Andre Swift, explored the locker room, stepped onto the field, visited Ben Johnson’s office, and celebrated alongside so many incredible people. Seeing our Bears-themed confetti cookies featured inside PNC’s private celebration space was surreal.
Good to better to best; this journey just keeps getting bigger.
Thank you to the Chicago Bears and PNC for believing in small businesses and creating opportunities that mean so much to families like ours.

Another unforgettable experience thanks to being named a Bears Small Business All-Pro, sponsored by PNC Financial Services.
Last night, PNC invited us to their private draft party at Soldier Field, where we spent time with D'Andre Swift, one of the stars of the Chicago Bears. We enjoyed incredible food in PNC’s private room inside the exclusive United Club level, and were so excited to see our Bears-themed confetti cookies included in the celebration.
The night kept getting better and better. We walked onto the field, explored the players’ locker room, and even stepped inside Ben Johnson’s office. For a small family bakery from Downtown Skokie, these are surreal moments we never could have imagined.
Good to better to best; this experience just keeps growing.

What an incredible night for our family and for Kneads and Wants.
Tonight we attended the Better Business Bureau’s 100th Anniversary Celebration at Navy Pier as guests of the wonderful team at PNC, who continue to honor us as Bears Small Business All-Pro winners.
We were seated front and center among business leaders from across the region, enjoyed a beautiful dinner, heard from Mayor Brandon Johnson, and listened to a Q&A with Lester Holt.
Moments like this remind us how grateful we are for this community and for everyone who supports our little family bakery in Downtown Skokie.
And yes, the swag bag was amazing.
Tomorrow, we’re headed to a private box at Soldier Field for the draft party. Truly, being named a Bears Small Business All-Pro has been the gift that keeps on giving. 🖤💙🏈

Ultra-thin sliced corned beef layered with our signature onion magic and a generous swipe of Dijon mustard, pressed on rustic schiacciata. Savory, rich, and anything but ordinary.
Corned Beef Croissant
A buttery croissant filled and baked with corned beef, havarti, caramelized onion magic, and whole grain mustard, finished with caraway seeds. Topped with housemade sliced pickle and tender cabbage, and served with cool, sharp horseradish cream for dipping.
