A little bit about my dad:
My dad bakes the mini conchas in the cafe!
I go to him with ideas and he makes it happen.
Mini heart conchas, flower conchas, bunny conchas & more!
He’s worked many different jobs in his life like bagging groceries in his small town at age 8 and field work at age 13 in Mexico. When he came to Chicago at 18 years old, he became interested in cooking. He started as kitchen cleaner then worked his way up to a prep cook then kitchen manager in an American restaurant!
He found his love of baking once he started working alongside my grandfather in his bakery, Panaderia Nuevo León. It has been 25+ years that he has discovered his love for baking and pan dulce ❤️

“We’re excited to share an upcoming event we’re hosting in collaboration with Yo Soy Ella, and we would truly appreciate your help in sharing this with your community. Join us on April 18th for a special community film and conversation. Las Chicas and Yo Soy Ella’s Sips and Reads are coming together to open up an important conversation about domestic violence. Our intention is to gently bring to the forefront a topic that has too often been kept in silence—one that deserves to be spoken about with care, support, and love”
