We had a great time watching the ponies run for the roses yesterday! There were fascinators, bow ties and mint juleps (as well as plenty of baseball caps, hoodies, beers) and of course lots of delicious barbecue. What fun to see Golden Tempo win - a long shot trained by the first woman trainer to ever win the Kentucky Derby. Cheers to Cherie DeVeaux! We love it when families come in to celebrate at Pit&Tap. Maybe it’s Grandpa’s birthday, or mom’s new job, or your kid’s high school graduation. Maybe you all just made through another week! To reach Wilmette Avenue in Wilmette, you can take the CTA Purple Line train to the Wilmette station which is just a few blocks away from the area. Alternatively, you can also take any of the many bus routes that service Wilmette such as Bus 423 or Bus 422.
For those driving, you can take Lake Shore Drive and exit at Sheridan Road in Evanston. Follow Sheridan Road north into Wilmette and turn right onto Central Avenue. Turn left onto 11th street and continue onto Wilmette Avenue where parking is available on the street or in nearby lots.
