Five Loaves is back. The beloved South Side soul food spot that closed its Chatham location in 2021 reopened September 22 inside the South Shore Cultural Center at 7059 S. South Shore Dr., brought in by Nafsi to handle breakfast and brunch in one of Chicago's most stunning lakeside dining rooms. We’re proud to announce that Nafsi x Five Loaves has been featured by as part of its coverage of restaurants shaping Chicago’s fall dining scene.
Beginning Thursday, September 24, Five Loaves brings its beloved breakfast and brunch experience to Nafsi South Shore Beach, inside the historic South Shore Cultural Center.
After Five Loaves closed its Chatham location in 2021, we saw an opportunity to help bring an established South Side brand back to the community — while creating an entirely new reason to experience one of Chicago’s most beautiful lakefront destinations.

To reach S. South Shore Drive in Chicago, you have a few options for public transport and driving/parking:
Public Transport:
1. From downtown Chicago, you can take the Metra Electric District Line to the 55th-56th-57th Street Station.
- Once you arrive at the station, head east on E. 56th Street towards S. South Shore Drive.
- Turn left onto S. South Shore Drive, and you will reach your destination.
2. Another option is to take the CTA bus route 6 or 28 to the intersection of E. Hyde Park Boulevard and S. Lake Park Avenue.
- From there, walk east on E. Hyde Park Boulevard until you reach S. South Shore Drive.

Driving/Parking:
