As we remember our brave men and women of service this Memorial Day, we'd like to share part of the story of our namesake.
Battista Tagliapietra spent his young years falling in love with the United States. Away from the majority of his family in Vicenza Italy, he found work in coal mines and eventually in the factory of American Motors.
When the United States joined World War 2, he immediately volunteered to serve his new home country. He was sent to fight in the Euopean theatre, specifically, his previous home of Italy.
He believed so much in the ideals of America, that he went back home to fight against his own countrymen to preserve them.
He was lucky enough to return home after victory and establish a family right here in Kenosha.
And we're lucky too, or we wouldn't be here to make you great authentic Italian pizza.
We hope everyone enjoys their day off, and spends a few moments to remember those who made it possible. Whether they were American-Born or adopted this country as home, our foundations are built on their steadfast belief in who we can, and should be.

To get to 6th Avenue A in Kenosha, you can either take the Green or Yellow Line of the Kenosha Streetcar if you are using public transport or drive along Sheridan Road, then turn right onto 6th Avenue and continue until you reach Avenue A. Limited street parking is available near the location, but there is also a paid parking lot nearby on 6th Avenue.
