Electric Mud Electric Mud is a charming coffee shop located on N Western and is the fifth retail location for Chicago's Dark Matt. The shop offers a variety of hot and cold drinks including their popular Heroine blend that celebrates International Women's Day. This blend is made from coffee sourced from an all-women cooperative in Rwanda giving it an extra special touch. The Copper & Kings Brandy Barrel-aged coffee and Intellectual Curiosity blend are also popular choices among customers.

This project has been in the making for quite some time and we've been anxiously awaiting its release! Throughout many tastings with Chef Rick Bayless and the Frontera team, we developed the concepts for each bar to take you on a journey through different regions of Mexico, inspired by meals, spirits, and experiences!
All of these cacaos come from either Chiapas or Tabasco in Southern Mexico and are 70% cacao and 30% sugar, with additional ingredients:
Aztec
Additional Ingredients: allspice, guajillo chile, puffed amaranth and marigold

Oaxaca
Additional Ingredients: mezcal infused cacao and Oaxacan pasilla

Jalisco
Additional Ingredients: tequila-infused cacao and guajillo chile

Mole
Additional Ingredients: chocolate made with cinnamon, black pepper, and allspice, filled with mole.

This Chronikkah, we celebrate by bringing you a blend of herbaceous, danklicious El Salvadorian coffees that pair exceptionally well with your midnight sufganiyot. A portion of the blend has been aged in CH bourbon barrels so pour it, pass it, and L'Chaim your way through the Farbrengen.

Electric Mud, located on N Western in Chicago, is a coffee shop that perfectly blends the blues with a delicious cup of coffee. This fifth retail location for Dark Matt is a must-visit for any coffee lover. The Datura blend, inspired by the sweet-scented flowers of the Datura plant, is a perfect example of their unique and creative approach to coffee. Made with a washed Salvadoran coffee and natural processed Pacas from Las Marias, this blend creates a sweet, peanut butter-like base with bright floral notes that come through as the cup cools down. The artwork for this year's blend by Brian Herrera adds an extra touch of creativity to this already unique experience. Additionally, Electric Mud has taken things up a notch by filling freshly-emptied Tepache Sunset barrels with one of their favorite natural processed Pacas from Finca Las Marias. This creates a complimentary fusion of flavor that is out of this world! With its cozy atmosphere and delicious coffee blends, Electric Mud is definitely worth checking out.
