You’re standing there taking a food exam with people behind you silently judging your confidence. 😭
Because in Chicago, “Italian beef” means business.
The bread has to be soft enough to soak up the juice…
but strong enough to survive the emotional damage.
The beef has to be piled high.
The peppers gotta show up.
The giardiniera has to wake your whole personality up.
And if you get it dipped?
That sandwich is no longer food.
That’s a beautiful disaster.
One bite in and now your hands are messy, the wrapper is losing the fight, your shirt is in danger, and somehow you still refuse to put it down.
