Exactly 30 years ago today, on September 2nd, 1996, the three of us met on our first day of school and became friends. ♥️
Jelena and I shared a school desk. Ana invited me over to see her brand-new computer, and I still remember sitting next to her dad waiting 10 minutes for it to turn on. 😭 I remember Jelena and me trading notebook covers. I remember us spending every school break together. Well we did that for the next 16 years, going through primary school, high school and even college together.
For years we basically lived together. We ate, slept, studied and partied together, often at the apartments, because we didn’t have much money for clubs lol, but we had each other. They were directly in charge of my straight A’s, defended me when kids called me gay while insisting I WASN’T gay 🤣, and when I finally came out, it took them approximately one night to get over the shock. 😂
Then I moved thousands of miles away, but somehow nothing changed. We still talk almost every day in our little group chat and reunite every time I’m back in the Balkans.
Last year, celebrating 29 years together in Belgrade, we couldn’t believe that 30 was around the corner. We were remembering so many things we have went through together. So I said, “For our 30th, let’s go anywhere in the world. You choose.”
They chose Santorini. 🇬🇷
So we went, and of course we hired a photographer because 30 YEARS of friendship deserves to be captured. 🥹 Thank you Santorini Photographer 🇬🇷 📸
From sharing a school desk to standing together in Santorini 30 years later. Through childhood, school, war, college, fights, heartbreaks, coming out, moving countries and growing into completely different versions of ourselves, we never stopped choosing each other.
Excited for next 30! 🥳
Love you, brothers!! ♾️
