Note from Chef Marisa:
Before we started Mango Pickle, I lived between India and the US. During the 9 years I spent splitting my time between these two countries, I started cooking professionally... which leads us to today.
I’ve always mused over the concept of using a tiffin - the tightly designed, super strong, multi coursed lunch box popular in Mumbai. These precious packages, which hold home-cooked comfort, are transported (in every possible way) from homes to elsewhere every day through the streets by the 1000s. These reusable, waste-free containers are the back bone of daily meals on the go there. Why not here in Chicago?
Since we left our Broadway location at the end of last year, this concept has finally come to life. As of right now, a multi-course tiffin enclosing a gourmet homemade meal can be waiting for you as soon as this Sunday, April 26th. Farm fresh and creating zero additional waste. We’ve always been excited to share flavors and techniques from Mumbai with you, and we can’t wait for you to experience this one.
