Since day one, the mission has been simple: make the kind of Chicago pizza I grew up with and keep that old school pizzeria feeling alive.

The biggest compliment we can get is when somebody tells us Bellona’s reminds them of being a kid. That the pizza tastes like the neighborhood spots they grew up on. That walking in feels familiar.

Today we pause to celebrate America’s 250th — that’s a big one.

Bellona’s will be closed today so our crew can enjoy the holiday with their families, fire up the grill, catch some fireworks, and take a well-earned day off.

We’re grateful for this country, grateful for our neighborhood, and grateful for every person who keeps showing love to our little pizza shop in Albany Park.
